The original Associated Weavers company was founded in Bradford, West Yorkshire and run by the Abrahams family. By the early 1970s the site in Tong employed 2,500 people. It was the world's largest producer of Axminster woven carpets and Europe's largest producer of tufted printed carpets.
The business has since gone through multiple rounds of acquisition and since 2010, Associated Weavers International, has been part of Belgotex International Group. They continue to provide some of the finest carpet products available on the market.
